Vocal Music of South India is the first CD released by Wesleyan Music faculty members B. Balasubrahmaniyan (voice), and David Nelson (mrdangam), assisted by guest violinist Anantha Krishnan.

This 2-CD set, recorded September 23, 2004 includes the full concert that inaugurated Wesleyan's annual Navaratri Festival. The recording, produced by Will Swofford ('05), is accompanied by the full program notes from the original concert, including translations of the song texts.

Vocal Music of South India is available for purchase through the University Box Office. The price is $15 for the 2-CD set, with all proceeds benefiting the Jon B. Higgins Memorial Fund, which supports the Navaratri festival as well as scholarship in Indian music by Wesleyan students and faculty.
