Welcome
I'm an associate professor in the Department of History and a tutor in the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University. Before joining Wesleyan in 2002, I taught European history at the University of Chicago, and prior to that, modern history at Balliol College in Oxford University. My field is modern German history with specializations in economic and social history, the history of economic thought, and the history of social reform. I have also developed a research interest in German imperialism and German-Japanese relations before 1918.
